Elevated fire danger across central Pennsylvania until Thursday evening
The National Weather Service warned of elevated wildfire risk across central Pennsylvania due to marginally dry, breezy conditions and low humidity.
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:55 a.m. on Thursday for elevated fire danger until 6 p.m. for Northern Clinton, Northern Centre, Southern Centre, Northern Lycoming, Southern Clinton and Southern Lycoming as well as Elk, Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata, Somerset, Bedford, Fulton, Franklin, Sullivan, Union, Snyder, Montour, Northumberland, Columbia, Perry, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster counties.
"The combination of marginally dry and breezy conditions will create an elevated risk of wildfire spread across most of central Pennsylvania today. Minimum relative humidity values will be around 30% with wind gusts from the south between 15 and 25 mph," says the weather service.
