Ephrata woman charged with misuse of 911 after 506 calls
Police say Hartranft made 506 calls to the 911 center over 11 months, 240 of them hang-ups.
The Ephrata Police Department charged Doris Hartranft of Ephrata with Misuse of 911 System after records showed she contacted the 911 center 506 times over an 11-month period, including 240 hang-up calls. Hartranft was warned repeatedly by police about misusing the system, and charges were filed July 1, 2026, through Magisterial District Judge Landis’s office; she is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
