Good Samaritan and Medical Amnesty Guidelines

College lays out signs of alcohol or drug overdose, immediate response steps and limited immunity when medical assistance is sought.

The College has adopted Good Samaritan and Medical Amnesty guidelines to prioritize timely medical care for students experiencing alcohol or drug overdoses. Students should call 911, monitor breathing and consciousness, turn an unconscious person on their side if vomiting, and stay with them until help arrives. Reporting students and students who seek help for themselves will not face student conduct or criminal charges, though educational programs may be assigned; guidance issued by Penn College Police Department.
