Incident Blotter: Sept. 11–17, 2026 — Sheriff-impersonation scam, domestic assaults, McCaffrey’s incident
Police warn of a Bucks County Sheriff impersonation scam and report multiple domestic-assault arrests plus an ongoing investigation into an assault at McCaffrey’s for the week of Sept. 11–17, 2026.
On Sept. 11 police investigated a scam in which a caller impersonating a Bucks County Sheriff told a resident they faced a federal case and demanded payment of two $5,000 fines to be delivered to a separate location; the caller reassured the resident they would be reimbursed and no money was lost. The scam was attempted two other times that week, and authorities reminded the public that law enforcement will not ask for cash drops to pay fines or resolve warrants. Newtown Township Police also responded to domestic disturbances on Sept. 12 and Sept. 13 that resulted in simple assault charges (one adult and one juvenile on Sept. 12; one adult on Sept. 13), and on Sept. 15 they are investigating an incident in which a McCaffrey’s employee was reportedly assaulted by a delivery driver.
