On July 18, 2026 at approximately 3:07 a.m., Jared Trent Gower, 21, of Columbia, PA, was charged following an incident in the 300 block of Locust Street. Charges filed by the Columbia Borough Police Department include strangulation-applying pressure to throat or neck; rape (forcible compulsion); kidnap to facilitate a felony; sexual assault; indecent assault (forcible compulsion); unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury; recklessly endangering another person; and aggravated indecent assault (forcible compulsion). Gower is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
