Jesse I. Koplin-Hayes charged in U-Haul rental theft in Tannersville

On July 25, 2026, Pocono Township Police were dispatched to Steele's ACE Hardware in Tannersville after a U-Haul cargo van rented from the store was not returned. Investigators determined 35-year-old Jesse I. Koplin-Hayes of Bushkill rented the vehicle; the van was later located with assistance from PSP Lehighton. Koplin-Hayes faces charges including Title 18 §3932(a) theft of leased property (F3) and PA 18 §3304(a)(5) criminal mischief (M2); all charges are pending.
