The Hanover Township Police Department arrested 27-year-old John Cassaberry for evading arrest or detention on foot following a vehicle pursuit on Carey Ave. Cassaberry, who was a passenger in the fleeing vehicle, was located on Lawrence St.; he fled on foot, sparking a foot pursuit on Plymouth Ave. and was apprehended on Horton St. He was transported to police headquarters, arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kyle Halesey—who denied bail—and remanded to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility. The vehicle was recovered and seized pending a search warrant, the incident remains under investigation, and additional charges may be filed.
