K9 Valo Celebrates First Birthday as Training Nears Completion

Today, Oct. 29, K9 Valo celebrates his first birthday while training with Officer Hartzell. He is sharpening patrol skills—searching buildings for people and scanning fields for items—and has nearly 500 successful drug detections; his initial training will conclude in two weeks, after which he’ll be certified to detect multiple narcotics. Officer Hartzell praises Valo’s intelligence, eagerness to learn and good nature, and the department invites followers to CrimeWatch for further updates.
