Keeping Halloween Safe for Kids, Walkers and Drivers

Costume and traffic safety can help make Halloween safer for everyone. Choose flame-resistant costumes, use reflective tape or glow sticks, prefer nontoxic makeup over masks, and remove makeup before bed. Parents should accompany young children or set routes and return times for older kids, and motorists should be extra vigilant—children are more than twice as likely to be fatally struck by a vehicle on Halloween—per guidance from the Plumstead Township Police Department and safety experts.
