A week before students returned to campus, sophomore Silvio Giardina’s brother, Jacob, fractured his neck in a diving accident and suffered a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. Upon hearing the news, Giardina’s Lehigh baseball teammates immediately took initiative to support the family, a response noted by senior pitcher Julio Ermigiotti.
