Ligonier man, 80, charged with child pornography after alleged abuse of minors
Ligonier Valley Police allege an 80-year-old man paid boys to pose naked and recovered images and videos from seized electronics; the suspect denies taking photos and says material was downloaded.
Ligonier Valley Police, working with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, charged 80-year-old Terry Barr with child pornography and possession of child sexual abuse material after an investigation into alleged inappropriate contact with minors, including a reporting victim who was 12 at the time. In August, officers executed a search warrant at Barr’s West Church Street home and seized electronics and cameras; digital forensics allegedly recovered images and videos of male juveniles, including the reporting victim. Barr maintains the material was downloaded from the internet and that the images depict adults; he was taken into custody, denied bail, and additional charges are pending. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ligonier Valley Police. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
