Ligonier man, 80, charged with child pornography after investigation
Ligonier Valley Police say electronics seized from an 80-year-old man’s home contained images and videos of male juveniles; he was taken into custody and denied bail while additional charges are pending.
Ligonier Valley Police, working with the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, charged 80-year-old Terry Barr after an investigation into alleged inappropriate contact with minors. Investigators say a 12-year-old victim and others were asked to pose naked and that Barr attempted to recruit other children; a search warrant recovered electronics and cameras containing child sexual abuse material, including images of the reporting victim. Barr denies taking photos and claims content was downloaded from the internet; he faces child pornography and possession of child sexual abuse material charges, was taken into custody and denied bail, and additional charges are pending.
