Lower Swatara Police Join Statewide Aggressive-Driving Enforcement (Oct. 19–Nov. 8, 2026)
Lower Swatara Township will take part in a multi-agency enforcement wave aimed at reducing aggressive-driving crashes, injuries and deaths.
Lower Swatara Township Police will join the Pennsylvania State Police and about 300 municipal agencies for a targeted aggressive-driving enforcement wave from October 19 through November 8, 2026; any aggressive driver stopped during the effort will be ticketed. The campaign will focus on school bus violations, the Move Over Law, tailgating, speeding and other unsafe behaviors, with officers concentrating on known high-crash roads using traffic enforcement zones, saturation patrols and multi-jurisdictional details. In 2025 there were 6,812 aggressive-driving crashes in Pennsylvania, resulting in 119 fatalities and 437 suspected serious injuries; the effort is funded in part by PennDOT using federal NHTSA funds (more information at pa.gov/dotsafety).
