Moffat County Sheriff Ends Use of Flock Camera System
Sheriff Chip McIntyre announced the office will not renew its Flock Safety contract and deputies will immediately stop using the camera system.
August 13, 2026 — Sheriff Chip McIntyre said the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office will not renew its contract with Flock Safety when it expires on December 31, 2026, and that deputies will immediately stop accessing or using the Flock camera system. McIntyre acknowledged the cameras’ investigative value but cited concerns about cost, actual use, data storage and sharing, and community trust; the office will continue using other investigative tools while remaining accountable to the public.
