Moffat County Sheriff's Office Ends Use of Flock Camera System
Sheriff cites costs, data-control and community concerns; deputies will immediately stop using the system while the contract runs through Dec. 31, 2026.
On August 13, 2026, the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office announced it will not renew its contract with Flock Safety when it expires on December 31, 2026, and that deputies will immediately stop accessing the Flock camera system. Sheriff Chip McIntyre said the decision balances public safety, fiscal responsibility, data storage and sharing concerns, and community trust; the office will continue using other investigative tools.
