NLCRPD honors its female officers on National Police Woman Day
The 36‑officer Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department recognizes its four women members and highlights their roles and service.
On Sept. 12, 2026 — National Police Woman Day — the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department (NLCRPD) thanked the four women serving among its 36 officers: Detective Corporal Theresa Stauffer (25 years, head of criminal investigations), Corporal Alexandria Hahn (platoon leader, A platoon), Officer Victoria Walton (joined after service at other departments), and Officer Kathryn Matrisciano (joined 2024, Reading Police Academy graduate, assigned to D platoon). The post also outlines the history of policewomen in the U.S., noting early matrons in 1854 and pioneers Marie Owens (Chicago, 1891) and Alice Wells (Los Angeles, 1910), and observes that women now serve across nearly every agency.
