Operation Safe Stop 30th Anniversary
Traffic Safety Unit officers joined the 30th Annual Operation Safe Stop to warn motorists that passing stopped school buses while children board or exit is both dangerous and illegal.
Members of the Traffic Safety Unit participated in the 30th Annual Operation Safe Stop, a campaign to educate drivers that passing a stopped school bus while children are boarding or alighting is dangerous and unlawful. Law enforcement, school transportation providers, pupil transportation associations, and PennDOT teamed up to raise awareness and reduce illegal school bus passes. Officers rode school buses with students from Stetson Middle and Westtown‑Thornbury Elementary as part of the outreach.
