On September 3, 2026, at about 10:35 a.m., 48-year-old Robert B. Thompson V allegedly yelled obscenities, punched the hood of a vehicle, confronted a driver aggressively, reached inside the vehicle, removed an item and threw it out at North Third and Chestnut streets in Columbia. The Columbia Borough Police Department filed charges of Simple Assault and Disorderly Conduct—Hazardous/Physical Offense (case CB-26-04296/2609003298); Thompson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
