Slow-Moving Superload to Move Through Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana Counties Sept. 21–22
Motorists should expect rolling slowdowns, lane stoppages and detours as a large superload moves through Armstrong, Westmoreland and Indiana counties; travel times and routes may change due to weather.
PennDOT warns that a second slow-moving superload will travel Sept. 21–22 from Schenley through Leechburg and Apollo to Delmont, then along Route 22/119 toward Blairsville, with a staging stop near Blairsville; movement resumes Sept. 21 at 7:00 PM and continues Sept. 22 at 9:00 AM via Campbells Mill Road and Blacklick Road to the Homer City Power Plant. Drivers west of the Indiana County line will be routed onto local detours (Bairdstown Road/West Market Street to East Market Street/Old William Penn Highway) and vehicles east of the line should expect rolling slowdowns while the load crosses the Conemaugh River; escort vehicles, PSP, bucket trucks and Edwards Moving and Rigging will be on scene. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes when possible and check 511PA for real-time conditions.
