Students control who can access their education records under FERPA
Lafayette College students can use a web proxy to grant external users view-only access to parts of their education records—such as schedules, grades and financial aid—and can update or revoke that access at any time.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.
The College provides a web proxy tool that allows students to grant external users “view only” access to elements of their student education records (i.e., course schedule, grades, financial aid award, etc.). Students can update and/or revoke proxy access at any time.
View the reference guide for accessing the proxy management system, and learn more about FERPA.
