Summit Police Launch 2026 Labor Day Drive Sober Enforcement Campaign
High-visibility patrols will target impaired driving and seat-belt violations in the Village of Summit and statewide partners over the Labor Day period.
The Summit Police Department announced a high-visibility traffic safety campaign running Aug. 14 through the early morning of Sept. 7, 2026, targeting impaired driving and failure to buckle up during the Labor Day holiday period. Partnering with the Illinois State Police and local agencies, officers will conduct stepped-up impaired driving patrols and seat-belt enforcement; the campaign is funded by NHTSA federal traffic safety funds administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
