Suspect in East Lampeter killing and hostage case found dead after self-inflicted gunshot wound
A Susquehanna Township man charged in the fatal shooting of Ernesto Rodriguez and the hostage-taking of a woman and her four children in East Lampeter Township was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and later pronounced dead.
Tobias John-Allen Click, 29, of Susquehanna Township was charged with multiple counts including first-, second- and third-degree murder after police say he shot and killed Ernesto Rodriguez inside a home in the 400 block of Aaron Lane and held Rodriguez’s current girlfriend and her four children hostage. Surveillance and witness accounts say Click forced entry early Saturday, fired multiple times at Rodriguez, threatened the woman and children, and fled after being told police were coming; state police later located him in Cumberland County following a vehicle pursuit, and he apparently shot himself in the head. Click was pronounced deceased on 10/11/2026 at approximately 8:25 a.m. by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office; East Lampeter Township Police thanked the PA State Police, Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, Lancaster County Forensic Team and West Lampeter Township Police for their assistance, and Officer Heather Waltman filed the charges. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
