Suspect in East Lampeter killing found with self-inflicted gunshot wound, later pronounced deceased
A Dauphin County man charged with shooting a Lancaster County man and holding a woman and four children hostage was later found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and pronounced deceased, police say.
Tobias John‑Allen Click, 29, of Susquehanna Township was charged with multiple counts including first‑, second‑ and third‑degree murder after Ernesto Rodriguez was shot and killed inside a home on Aaron Lane in East Lampeter Township. Rodriguez’s current girlfriend and her four children were held hostage during the incident; police say Click fled, was located in Cumberland County after a vehicle pursuit and apparently shot himself. An update states Click was pronounced deceased on 10/11/2026 at approximately 8:25 a.m. by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office; the East Lampeter Township Police and allied agencies continue to investigate.
