Teenager Dies After Jumping From Don Holt Bridge; NCPD Investigating
An early-morning incident on I-526 eastbound led to a temporary closure after a teenager jumped from the Don Holt Bridge and was later pronounced dead.
At about 7:22 a.m., officers responded to a call on I-526 eastbound atop the Don Holt Bridge and learned a teenager had exited a vehicle and jumped from the bridge before they arrived. The Charleston Police Department’s Marine Unit located the victim under the bridge, who was later pronounced deceased; the North Charleston Police Department and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
