Updated: Lemoyne Borough police incident ends with peaceful surrender
West Shore Regional Police and the Cumberland County Special Response Team peacefully resolved a near six-hour standoff after officers attempted to serve a domestic violence-related arrest warrant and conduct a welfare check.
On November 3, 2026, West Shore Regional Police attempted to serve a domestic violence-related arrest warrant on Nicholas Rosado in the 400 block of Lemoyne Borough and to conduct a welfare check after threats of self-harm. Rosado, who was known to have weapons in the home, refused to come out and the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Special Response Team was activated, leading to an incident that lasted close to six hours during which he expressed a desire to self-harm and to provoke officers to shoot him. Through coordinated negotiation and restraint the officers secured Rosado’s peaceful surrender; District Attorney Seán M. McCormack commended the response and training that ensured the safety of officers, the suspect, and the community.
