In August authorities found a card skimming device at All Fresh Supermarket, 320 Pond St., in Bristol, prompting a public alert and an investigation. Bristol-based Allied Electronics donated a handheld SkimBuster—which detects deep-insert and overlay skimmers without taking apart terminals—and, alongside District Attorney Joe Khan and Police Chief Joe Moors, demonstrated the device and trained store and law enforcement staff. One man has been arrested and police continue to seek a co-conspirator; officials warned that skimming disproportionately harms families who rely on EBT benefits.
