Ashley Wheelis charged after smoking pipe found at Monroe County jail
Guards at the Monroe County Correctional Facility found a smoking pipe hidden on Wheelis after she was booked on a warrant.
On September 6, 2026, Pocono Township police stopped a street bike; back-seat passenger Ashley Wheelis, 37, was found to have an arrest warrant and was transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility. At approximately 7:42 p.m., jail guards notified officers that Wheelis had a smoking pipe commonly used to ingest narcotics hidden on her person. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance or contraband by an inmate (Title 18 §5123 A.2) and tampering with physical evidence (Title 18 §4910).
