After retiring, 75-year-old Puerto Rican Elsie Berrios saw her physical and mental health decline and spent long stretches alone in her daughter's home. The Basilio Huertas Senior Center provides community-based, culturally attuned support aimed at helping Hispanic elders rebuild social connections and improve wellbeing as they age.
