Between July 26 and Aug. 4, 2026, Batavia Police arrested eight people on charges including second-degree burglary and criminal contempt, DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree harassment, and petit larceny; most were issued appearance tickets and released. Notable arrests include 19-year-old Gianna E. Williams (Aug. 2) charged with burglary 2nd and criminal contempt 2nd after she was allegedly found inside a residence in violation of an order of protection and arraigned in CAP Court, and Brian K. Ace Jr. (July 26) charged with DWI following a traffic stop on East Main St.; other arrests involved alleged thefts of alcohol and vehicle keys, alleged assaults during altercations, threatening social media messages, and alleged possession of cocaine.
