Bensalem Police warn of phone scam using AI-style photos
Scammers called a Bensalem resident claiming to be local elected officials and then police, using what appeared to be AI-generated photos and requesting payment through gift cards, Apple Pay or similar methods.
Bensalem Police report a resident received fraudulent calls from individuals posing first as local elected officials and then as police officers, using what appeared to be AI-generated photographs to make the scam more convincing. Authorities emphasize that Bucks County elected officials and the Bensalem Police Department will never call to request payment via gift cards, Apple Pay or similar methods, nor will they promise to reimburse money after payment; anyone who gets such a call should hang up, not share personal or financial information, and report it to Bensalem Police at 215-633-3719.
