Camp Cadet 2026 Kick-Off at Camp Saginaw
Parkesburg officers joined the Chester County Camp Cadet opening at Camp Saginaw, participating in ceremonies and weeklong youth mentoring while honoring fallen Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor Jr.
Members of the Parkesburg Police Department took part in the opening ceremony for the Chester County Camp Cadet program at Camp Saginaw. Camp Cadet, a Commonwealth-wide program hosted by the Pennsylvania State Police for 11- to 14-year-olds, pairs law enforcement counselors with cadets for a week of bonding, challenges and life lessons under the motto “Growth through discipline, achievement through teamwork, and pride through respect.” The ceremony featured vehicle processions with lights and sirens and included tributes to Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on March 8, 2026; decals donated by Josh and Steve Mellinger of Graphics On The Go and a custom flag were displayed to honor his legacy (photos courtesy Heather Smith).
