During student drop-off on Sept. 23, 2026, members of the Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police conducted a child safety seat checkpoint at Southside Elementary, funded by the Lower Paxton Township Police Traffic Safety Grant sponsored by PennDOT and NHTSA. Officers checked every vehicle, had certified technicians install 8 car seats and adjust 4 others, issued 11 written warnings for child safety seat violations, 1 equipment card for an expired inspection, and 2 traffic citations for drivers operating while their licenses were suspended.
