Downtown vendor arrested after repeated loud-music complaints
Police say a downtown food vendor repeatedly warned about loud music refused to lower the volume and to provide identification; he was detained for identification, cited for disorderly conduct, released, and the case will go to the magistrate while the vendor’s permit status is reviewed.
On Aug. 7, 2026, officers responded to a downtown complaint about a food vendor playing loud music. The vendor, previously warned on multiple occasions for volume and disturbing the peace, refused to lower the music and to provide identification; officers detained him to establish identity, issued a citation for disorderly conduct (including the loud-music disturbance and refusal to provide ID), and released him. The citation and arrest will be handled by the local magistrate, and the City’s Permit/Pre-Planning Committee will review the vendor’s ability to receive permits, according to Commissioner Michael Muldrow of the York City Police Department.
