Hanover Police reported a series of incidents on Oct. 14, 2026, including two criminal trespass complaints, several domestic arguments, a harassment-by-communications report, and multiple vehicle crashes that required towing. Dennis Hockensmith Jr., 67, of Hanover was arrested and charged with luring a child into a motor vehicle or structure and interference with custody of children after an incident in the 200 block of High Street; he was arraigned and committed to York County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. Crashes occurred at Stock & Penn, York & E. Middle (minor injury), and the 1100 block of Carlisle Street, involving drivers Salvatore Verity, Stacey Ibarra Perez, Donald Yealy, Najuma Norman, Joshua Mofor and Brenda Herr.
