Kennett Square woman charged with simple assault and obstructing officers

Jacqueline Keita, 55, of Kennett Square, was charged with (1) count (18) 2701 (A)(1) SIMPLE ASSAULT and (1) count (18) 5101 OBSTRUCTING ADMINISTRATION OF LAW OR OTHER GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTION after officers say she interfered while they attempted to take a male subject into custody on August 22, 2026, at approximately 6:14 PM in the 100 block of N. Willow Street. Her actions reportedly hindered the officers’ ability to perform their duties; a preliminary hearing is pending for both defendants involved. The case (KS-26-008143) was handled by the Kennett Square Police Department.
