On September 1, 2026 at 7:26 p.m., West Earl Township officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Edgehill Drive in Akron after reports that 34-year-old Kyle Matthew Rissell, allegedly intoxicated, had smashed his girlfriend’s Toyota RAV4 rear windshield and was bleeding. Officers say Rissell had lacerations on his arms consistent with punching through a window, became physically aggressive when approached, wrestled with officers, attempted to slam a door on them and continued to resist after being handcuffed; neighbors were alarmed. Officer Mariano Wisnowski charged him with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and obstruction of administration of law; charges were brought before District Judge Torrey Landis and Rissell was arraigned September 2, 2026 by District Judge John Bender with $10,000 cash bail and is being held at Lancaster County Prison.
