Lavern Miller Facing Warrant for Hospital Assault

On Wednesday, August 19, 2026, East Pennsboro Township officers were alerted to an assault in the Penn State Holy Spirit Hospital emergency room after a patient tried to leave despite an involuntary commitment. The 55-year-old male, Lavern Arden Miller, allegedly slapped a hospital employee on the forearm and then kicked and struck the employee’s abdomen and rib area; police are requesting a warrant for aggravated assault.
