Manwel Abdalla arrested on theft by deception and bad checks charges
Harrisburg resident charged after a $30,000 vehicle down payment check bounced; arrested at Newark Airport and released on $25,000 bail.
Manwel Abdalla, 18, of Harrisburg, was charged with Theft by Deception and Bad Checks after providing a $30,000 check to Twin Pine Ford as a vehicle down payment on May 21, 2026; the check was returned for insufficient funds and he did not provide alternate payment. A warrant was issued and Abdalla was taken into custody Aug. 7, 2026, while going through customs at Newark Airport; he was returned for arraignment, released after posting $25,000 bail, the vehicle was recovered in the airport parking lot, and he is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
