On July 26, 2026 at about 4:08 a.m., a Pocono Township officer observed a vehicle traveling south on SR0611 at 70.5 MPH in a 45 MPH zone and weaving out of its lane, prompting a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Maurice E. Evans of Valley Steam, NY, showed signs of impairment and was arrested; blood results later indicated a BAC of .148%.
