NJ Deputy Attorney General Arrested in Bucks County on AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges
A Lower Makefield Township man and New Jersey Deputy Attorney General was arrested after investigators say he used artificial intelligence to create and share child sexual abuse material and possessed images of real children.
Bucks County detectives and Lower Makefield Township Police arrested 51-year-old Brian Richard Fitzgerald after the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children reported a Discord user sharing illicit images. Investigators allege forensic and subscriber records linked the account and IP addresses to Fitzgerald’s Edgewood Road home, where they recovered AI prompts, scripts and chat logs showing he generated and shared AI-created child sexual abuse material and acquired images of real children. Fitzgerald, a Deputy Attorney General for New Jersey, was charged with three felonies — possession of child sexual abuse material, dissemination of photos or film of child sexual abuse materials, and criminal use of a communication facility — arraigned with bail set at $2 million (10%) and remanded to Bucks County Correctional Facility; a preliminary hearing is scheduled later this month.
