Parkesburg Police Join Camp Cadet 2026 Kick‑Off and Honor Fallen Corporal
Parkesburg officers joined the opening ceremony for Chester County Camp Cadet at Camp Saginaw, a Pennsylvania State Police‑hosted weeklong program for 11–14-year-olds.
Members of the Parkesburg Police Department took part in the opening ceremony for Chester County Camp Cadet at Camp Saginaw. Camp Cadet, hosted by the Pennsylvania State Police for youth ages 11 to 14, pairs law enforcement counselors with cadets for a week of bonding, challenges and life lessons under the motto “Growth through discipline, achievement through teamwork, and pride through respect.” This year’s ceremony featured the traditional police vehicle entrance with lights and sirens and a tribute to Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy J. O’Connor Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on March 8, 2026; two Parkesburg vehicles bore special decals donated by Josh and Steve Mellinger of Graphics On The Go, and a custom flag honoring Corporal O’Connor was donated to Camp Cadet.
