On Sept. 11, 2026, the Keystone Valley Fire Department will sound its station bell at key times to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks: 8:46 AM (North Tower struck, American Airlines Flight 11), 9:03 AM (South Tower struck, Flight 175), 9:37 AM (Pentagon struck, Flight 77), 9:59 AM (South Tower collapses), 10:03 AM (United Airlines Flight 93 crashes in Somerset, PA), and 10:28 AM (North Tower collapses). Hagan II has ordered flags at the Municipal Complex and the Keystone Valley Fire Department lowered to half‑mast at 8:30 AM until sunset; the Keystone Valley Fire Department and Parkesburg Borough Police Department say they will pray for, honor, and support families who lost loved ones. The notice closes with a remembrance quote from Joseph Campbell: "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself."
