On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, the Stroud Area Regional Police received multiple 911 calls about a blue sports car doing “donuts” and loud music at the Main and 7th Street intersection in Stroudsburg. Officers arrived at 11:58 p.m., conducted traffic stops at 12:08 a.m., issued citations, and monitored the area until about 3:00 a.m.; the department is investigating a blue Chevrolet Corvette Stingray bearing a fictitious New York plate reading “MAFIA.” SARPD says many social media accounts contain inaccurate information, is treating the matter seriously, and asks anyone with information or independent video to submit an anonymous tip while affirming a zero-tolerance stance on street-takeover behavior.
