Resident Scammed Into Buying $5,000 in Bitcoin After Fake PayPal Email
Victim told $20,000 had been deposited and instructed to buy $5,000 in Bitcoin; investigation ongoing.
A resident on the 600 block of Rose Hollow Dr. reported at 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 29 receiving a fraudulent PayPal email and contacting someone they believed to be an FTC employee. They were told $20,000 had been deposited and were instructed to buy $5,000 in Bitcoin, which they did; the Lower Makefield Township Police Department is investigating.
