Richard Nathan Emery arrested on strangulation, assault charges in Porter Township
Lycoming Regional Police say a 43-year-old man was taken into custody after a woman reported he put his hand around her neck and struck her during a domestic disturbance at a North Main Street address.
Shortly before 2:00 PM on August 31, 2026, Lycoming Regional Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at 311 North Main Street in Porter Township (Jersey Shore), Lycoming County. Officers say the victim exhibited visible injuries to her neck, chest and chin and alleged that 43-year-old Richard Nathan Emery placed his hand around her neck, restricting her breathing, and struck her while she was on the phone. Emery was taken into custody and charged under Pennsylvania statutes 18 2718 A1 (strangulation), 18 2701 A1 (simple assault) and 18 2709 A1 (harassment); all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
