Summit Police Increase October Patrols to Boost Roadway Safety
From Oct. 1–23, 2026, extra patrols will target distracted driving, occupant protection, speed awareness and drunk driving to keep motorists safe.
The Summit Police Department will add extra patrols throughout October to promote safer driving and remind motorists to make responsible choices on local roadways. From October 1–23, 2026, enforcement will focus on distracted driving, occupant protection, speed awareness and drunk driving. The campaigns are administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and funded with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
