Traffic-direction incidents lead to arrest, warrant in Swatara Township
While officers and fire police were directing traffic at a serious crash, two separate incidents endangered emergency personnel — one led to an arrest and the other to a warrant.
On Sept. 21, 2026 at approximately 4:59 p.m., two Swatara Township officers directing traffic near Paxton Street and Mushroom Hill Road say a driver, Matthew Nehring of Camp Hill, disregarded commands and drove around them, nearly striking both; he was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault (F1), two counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2) and four summary offenses, and was remanded after being unable to post bail (photo displayed). Earlier that day at about 4:14 p.m., two Fire Police personnel directing traffic at the ramp from Paxton Street to Penhar Drive were allegedly assaulted by Yolanda Cardona‑Cintron of Harrisburg after being told she could not turn the way she wanted; she fled before police arrived, a warrant is being obtained, and she faces charges including Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and three summary offenses (no photo available).
