Westmoreland County detectives speak at scam-jam event in New Kensington
Law enforcement and consumer advocates warned residents about current fraud tactics and offered prevention resources.
Westmoreland County Detectives represented the district attorney’s office at a scam jam event held by Representative Jill Cooper at the New Kensington Senior Center on Third Avenue. Local, county and state law enforcement joined presenters from the Area Agency on Aging and an AARP consumer advocate to explain recent fraud trends, sophisticated tactics used by scammers, and to provide resources to help residents avoid becoming victims.
