On October 7, 2026 at about 8:15 p.m., a Pocono Township officer was notified of a possible domestic violence incident and opened an investigation. The inquiry determined 81-year-old Hilton Pearce of Henryville assaulted his wife and violated an active protection-from-abuse (PFA) order. Pearce was arrested, booked into the Monroe County Correctional Facility, and faces charges including PA 18 2701A1 (simple assault), PA 18 2709A1 (harassment) and PA 23 6113A (arrest for violation of order); all charges are pending.
