ABE posts record summer with nearly 300,000 passengers
ABE handled 299,779 passengers over June–August 2025 and recorded its busiest month ever in July, while August air cargo surged more than 41% year‑over‑year.
Almost 300,000 passengers fly through ABE from June – August
(Hanover Township, PA) – Summer is always the busiest time of the year at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), and 2025 produced a record-breaking travel season (June-August) – 299,779 passengers.
“Since March, ABE hasn’t seen less than 85,000 passengers per month, and we’re appreciative that people across our region are choosing to Fly Local,” said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director, Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA).
In August, 97,179 passengers used ABE – a 0.75% increase from August 2024.
“Last month, United Airlines added their new midday flight to Chicago (O’Hare) and we’re excited to kickoff nonstop service to Fort Myers, Florida in November aboard Allegiant Air,” said Stoudt.

By the numbers, United jumped 8.5%, Delta was up 5% and Allegiant increased 3.4%. Meanwhile, American declined 15% from last August.
In July, 102,634 passengers used ABE – the best month on record for ABE.

28,293,960 pounds of air cargo was processed through Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) in August – an increase of 41.25% from August 2024.
